Custom LED has been in business since 2001 and incorporated as Custom LED LLC since 2003.  In that time, the Owner of the company has remained in full control of all customer interactions including phone calls and emails, and is still the Cheif Engineer for product development and also personally hand-builds most of the products that we sell!

"To be perfectly honest, I was a little leery of ordering my LED taillight with integrated blinkers for my 2013 Ducati Multistrada from the CustomLED website. All of the disclaimers about delayed shipping times and lost orders made me a little nervous it might be a scam site, or a customer service nightmare if I had to track down a lost item… but I overcame paranoia and completed my order. My order arrived in just 3 days, and took all of 15 minutes to install: completely plug & play, as advertised, and it works great! huge improvement over the stock lighting, adds a great look and improved visibility on the road. "Just tested my new tail light with integrated turn signal. I have to say the description is misleading, “ultra-high intensity”. Somewhere there is a galaxy missing 32 yellow, and red stars. Somehow they managed to shove them into this tail light without adding any additional weight to the bike. I plugged them in to test them, and when turned the switch on, I instantly tanned to a god like bronze color. Feeling giddy, I pointed the tail light at Michelle and activated the Super Nova mode, also known as the “Brake Light” I am going to miss Michelle, but I will always have her shadow permanently burned into the siding to remember her by. AND it also includes an Instant Seizure mode to get rid of annoying neighbors when they want to show up and chat, and you want to ride. As you fast as you can point to the tail of you bike and say “Look at the birdie” they will be out for the count, drooling and flipping around like a salmon right before it becomes sushi."

Motorcycle Integrated LED Tail Lights – The “Custom LED” Way.

Custom LED is a pioneer in the art of motorcycle LED tail light integration.

Custom LED started back in 2001, when I purchased my first motorcycle. It was a 1999 Yamaha YZF-R6 with a eurotail undertail kit on the back.

This kit provided a stylish alternative to the factory Yamaha YZF-R6 tail light and blinker setup. The undertail had a brake light and two small turn signal lamps mounted directly to it. This was long before the “integrated” LED tail light was born! Heck, the OEM tail lights were still incandescent light bulbs at this time!

To make a long story short, I was not satisfied with the visibility of the aftermarket tail light setup, and I feared that I was going to be rear-ended by a vehicle behind me. Being somewhat of an electrical savant my whole life, I set out to Radio Shack to try to spruce up the tail light with LEDs. I ended up making a custom circuit board that held 100+ LEDs on it, that fit perfectly within the aftermarket undertail. Needless to say, the self-made 100+ LED tail light was far brighter than the OEM tail light, or any other aftermarket tail lights available at that time!

Since the 1999 R6 was such a popular motorcycle (the first “real” super-sport bike according to many), my design started a fury online on motorcycle forums. Pretty soon I was hand-building my LED retrofit kits each night, after coming home from my full-time engineering job. The demand grew, and so did Custom LED!

Fast forward to the present, and Custom LED is still owned and operated by me, the same motorcycle enthusiast, and electrical genius that started it all!
